Quantitative Analysis of Colombian Waste Picker’s Profile

Even though waste pickers play a crucial role in the urban solid management system developing countries, their social, familial, and labor conditions remain uncertain. In this study, we analyzed profiles of Colombia using multivariate statistical methods cluster analysis. Our findings indicate that majority have only completed elementary or high school education, most them are not associated with any organization belong to subsidized health regime. We identified five population. The first consists experienced individuals, while second comprises individuals lowest salaries. third includes older who work more hours per day. fourth is made up informal sector, fifth formal sector. study highlights specific actions be taken for each profile. Improving family household conditions, social educational status, job can significant impact on lives.
